The Euraidd are a species of sentient plant-based humanoids. Approximately 300 years ago they were summoned from their original oceanic homeworld by the god Shepherd (whose domains are Compassion, Temperance, Truth, and Wisdom) in an event they call the Great Shaping.

Appearance

Euraidd appear as tall, graceful elves with smooth, barkless wood-like skin in shades of lavender. Their bodies are composed of dense, flexible plant fiber that gives them a warm, sculpted appearance with faint flowing grain patterns. They have silver-white or pale metallic hair (often leaf-like filaments), large luminous eyes (gold, emerald, or amber), and pointed ears. They move with a fluid, swaying grace reminiscent of ocean currents.

Biology

The Euraidd originated as vast colonies of floating oceanic plants with distributed intelligence and no natural ambulatory ability. During the Great Shaping, Shepherd used the 5 km space station’s clone bays to grant them individual humanoid bodies, allowing them to defend themselves against eldritch outsiders.

  • They are fundamentally **plants**, not animals. They primarily photosynthesize but also drink mineral mixtures. They have no stomach or mammalian digestive system.
  • They possess sap-based circulation and rapid fiber regeneration.
  • Reproduction occurs through natural flowering cycles, with modern Euraidd using precision **nanites** for controlled pollination to protect genetic purity. Accidental pollination is almost nonexistent except in one traditionalist colony.
  • They do not require rooting or soil contact and prefer humid or fluid environments that echo their oceanic origins.
  • They still dream of floating in ancient oceans and use VR simulations to fulfill this need.

Technology & Culture

The Euraidd make heavy use of AI and robotics for routine administration and research. The 5 km space station serves as a central trade hub, traffic control point, ship maintenance facility, and military command center for their empire.

Culturally, they favor layered robes in shades of purple, lavender, and silver. Art (particularly bonsai-style spider plants, self-sustaining terrariums/aquascapes, and VR ocean simulations), patronage, and the pursuit of harmony remain central values.
